    Featuring the Art of Kent Mosley Pickens County has always had a deep appreciation for the arts, and as proud stewards of our local creative community, we are excited to invite you to the gallery space opening for our first open house event. Join us on November 8, 2025, as we proudly feature the work of local war hero and artist, Kent Mosley. During his distinguished service in the U.S. Army as a page for General MacArthur, Kent’s travels through China and abroad inspired a lifelong passion for art — capturing the beauty and complexity of the world he witnessed. We welcome you to experience his remarkable collection and celebrate his story as part of Jasper’s Soup Bean Festival. Help us celebrate the life of war hero, and patron of Pickens County, and help us honor the connection between art, history, and community.     Pickens Arts and Cultural Alliance Annual Meeting Celebrating Arts & Culture in Pickens County, Georgia Event Overview The Pickens Arts and Cultural Alliance Annual Meeting is a key community event for arts and culture in Pickens County, Georgia. This yearly gathering brings together artists, arts supporters, educators, business leaders, and residents who care about creative growth in the county. The meeting highlights achievements from the past year and outlines goals for the future. This event is open to the public. It welcomes anyone who wants to learn more about local arts programs and cultural initiatives. The annual meeting also serves as a time to recognize the people and organizations who support the arts in Pickens County. Date & Time Thursday, January 29, 2026 Meet & Greet: 6:00 – 6:30 p.m. Annual Meeting Program: 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to arrive early for the meet and greet. This time allows attendees to connect with artists, board members, and community partners in a relaxed setting.   • Children’s Marbling Workshops

    Children 3rd grade and above are invited to the Pickens County Public Library to learn the art technique of marbling on paper and textiles. This workshop will highlight the unique cultural and artistic contribution marble has had on Pickens County, the Marble Capital of Georgia! Happening February 19th at 1:30 PM and again at 4:00 PM. This workshop is made possible by a grant from the Georgia Council for the Arts in association with the National Endowment for the Arts, awarded to Pickens Arts and Cultural Alliance (PACA). Registration is free but required in advance. Children under 13 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
